Panamera is reportedly still on schedule for a 2009 calendar year debut as a 2010 model year vehicle, with its premiere rumored to be at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The automaker hopes to sell some 20,000 a year world wide when it hits the market. The Panamera is generally considered to be the long-awaited fruit of their 989 concept from the late 1980s; some argue that it also presents itself as a successor to the 2-doored 928, but there may be plans to develop a new 928 too[4]. It will be marketed as a direct competitor to automobiles such as the BMW Gran Turismo, the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG and Maserati Quattroporte and (to a lesser degree) a less expensive alternative to vehicles such as the Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Aston Martin Rapide. It is the first V8-engined sports car built by Porsche since 1995, when the 928 was discontinued and will be produced in the new plant at Leipzig alongside the Cayenne. The Aston Martin Rapide is a four-door, high-performance sport sedan, which British luxury marque Aston Martin plans to introduce in late 2009 to compete with the Maserati Quattroporte and Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, along with the upcoming Audi A7, Porsche Panamera and BMW Gran Turismo. It was first presented as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in 2006. The Rapide name is a reference to the Lagonda Rapide, a sedan produced by Lagonda, now part of Aston Martin. The car is based on an Aston Martin DB9. I think the new interior looks decent. It�s better than the retro of the current mustang. The retro was cool for a couple years, but then it just got ugly in my opinion. I like that they brought it more up to date in the 2010 Mustang. Even better, this working prototype is wearing virtually no disguise other than its charred-Cheetos-on-a-white-tablecloth body wrap�complete with racing stripes, of course�revealing design details we�ve never seen before that will apply to all Mustangs. These include the new, shrunken headlamps, which are now assemblies that include the turn signals. The back end shows the pinched taillamps set high up in the new rear bumper. The freshened skin is somewhat more beveled, with a front-to-back crease and what appears to be some sort of front fender ornamentation. Toyota is touting the iQ as the ultimate refined mode of transportation and at less than 118 inches in length, it�s certainly small enough to be a devoted city runabout. The iQ measures 2,985mm in length with a 2,000mm wheelbase, which aids in both drivability and interior volume. The inside benefits from many of the angles and curves that adorn the exterior sheetmetal, including a triangular center console fitted with a 5.8-inch display. Additional storage comes courtesy of 50/50 split folding rear seats and an under-floor fuel tank that maximizes interior space. Toyota didn't divulge what kind of powertrains the iQ would come equipped with, but sales are slated to begin in late 2008, with production expected to crest the 100,000 mark during its first year.
